Reba McEntire brought her signature flair to NBC’s Opry 100: A Live Celebration, showcasing a bold and fun look that left fans in awe. Sporting a high, voluminous party ponytail paired with fluffy bangs, McEntire’s fiery red hair perfectly matched the energy of the evening. Her glamorous outfit, complete with sparkling earrings, a bejeweled jacket, and matching boots, made it clear that she was ready to celebrate country music in style.

The three-hour special, which honored the rich history of country music, kicked off with McEntire singing Loretta Lynn’s iconic song “You Ain’t Woman Enough” on stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. As the performance continued, McEntire was joined by fellow country star Trisha Yearwood, and the two performed McEntire’s famous 1991 hit, “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.” Throughout the performance, McEntire’s high ponytail and voluminous bangs stole the show, a dramatic contrast to her more relaxed style on her latest show, Happy’s Place.

The celebration didn’t stop with McEntire’s performance. At the Ryman Auditorium, Lainey Wilson and Marty Stuart kept the energy high, delivering powerful performances that helped keep the party atmosphere alive.

While McEntire has always been known for her striking red hair, she has experimented with different looks over the years. In a candid conversation with Glamour, McEntire recalled the time she cut her hair short in the late 1990s. “It was in ’96 or ’97 when I cut my hair off, and it was freeing,” she explained. However, convincing her management and stylist to make the change was no easy feat. “They told me my hair was my image… I had to talk them into it,” she said, adding that they eventually agreed, saying it would give people something new to talk about. And so, McEntire made history with her dramatic haircut.

Despite her success, McEntire had to face insecurities when she was younger. In an April 2024 interview with E!, she shared how she struggled with her appearance as a child. “I was pale, had lots of freckles, and frizzy hair,” she recalled. She compared herself to her friends, who had straight, shiny hair and tanned skin. “I’d lay out with her, and she would get brown as a biscuit, and I’d be blistered.” Over time, McEntire came to a powerful realization: she didn’t need to look like anyone else to be beautiful. “I finally figured it out: I’m not supposed to be like them — I’m just me,” she said, emphasizing that this self-acceptance set her free.

Today, Reba McEntire stands as a symbol of confidence and individuality, embracing both her personal style and her natural beauty, no matter how much it may differ from others.
