Known for her signature bright blonde hair on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s hair has undergone quite the transformation since joining the Bravoverse in season one. While she’s often seen sporting blonde wigs, her natural hair was once darker and curlier before she transitioned to bleached blonde hair in the early 2000s.
A recent throwback photo shocked fans, showing the Don’t Be Tardy star sporting thick, dark curly hair when she was younger. In the photo, Kim appears to be in a classroom, wearing a school uniform, and with her hair styled in a playful way, a nod to the ’90s trend.
Kim’s natural hair color is dark brown, and she often styled it in a big, playful style when she was younger. While Kim is now known for her light blonde hair, she went back to her darker roots last summer, surprising fans with a brunette hairdo.
“So, is my midlife crisis resolving itself, or…?” Kim joked about the dramatic hair makeover.
Her daughter Brielle jokingly responded, “I never thought 53 would look this good on someone else.” Kim, 46 (not 53), pouted at the comment and asked, “Really, honey?”
In addition to the brunette look Kim rocked in June, she also showed off her natural hair in February. The Atlanta resident posted a photo of her slightly tousled blonde locks and confirmed to fans that it was her real hair. “So many questions! Yes, this is all my real hair!!” she wrote in the post, which also shared some of her favorite hair products with fans.
