Princess Lilibet made a rare appearance in a recent Instagram post shared by her mother, Meghan Markle, on April 12. In the short video, Meghan and her 3-year-old daughter are seen enjoying a sweet treat that Prince Harry brought back from Ukraine.
The video shows Lilibet reaching out for the treat while wearing white pajamas adorned with red and green floral patterns. Another pair of small hands, likely belonging to Prince Archie, can be seen off to the side holding a piece of cake.
Meghan, 43, captioned the video, “A special gift ‘papa brought back from Ukraine.” The post came shortly after Prince Harry, 40, returned from Ukraine, where he visited the city of Lviv on April 10. Harry’s trip was part of his ongoing efforts to meet with war victims and support humanitarian efforts in the region.
Harry also recently attended a court hearing in London on April 8 regarding his U.K. security arrangements. During his time in Ukraine, Harry visited the Superhumans Center, where he saw the rehabilitation services provided to veterans, including free prosthetics, surgeries, and psychological support. He also met with veterans from the Invictus Games Foundation, a charity he founded in 2014 to support wounded and sick service personnel.
Lilibet and her 5-year-old brother, Archie, have made rare appearances on Meghan’s Instagram in recent weeks. In a photo shared on March 24, Meghan was seen holding Lilibet while Archie hugged her. Both children’s distinctive red hair was visible in the photo, a trait that Prince Harry has said comes from his late mother, Princess Diana’s side of the family.
In January 2023, during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Harry spoke fondly about his children’s red hair. When asked if he saw family resemblances in his kids, he replied, “Definitely my mum. The ginger gene is a strong one.” He added, “The Spencer gene is very, very strong,” referring to his maternal family. Harry humorously recalled that, at the start of his relationship with Meghan, he thought the “ginger gene” might not make it through, but he was happy to be proven wrong. “Go gingers!” he said.
