In addition to her striking beauty, Ortega showcased a playful purple outfit that drew comparisons to Scooby-Doo’s Daphne Blake. The 22-year-old actress attended the four-day event to support Lionsgate, which presented a clip from their upcoming movie Hurry Up Tomorrow. Ortega stars in the film alongside The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) and Barry Keoghan. The actress also had the honor of introducing Tesfaye as he performed live, debuting two new songs, “Cry for Me” and “Open Hearts,” along with his 2020 hit, “Blinding Lights.”
Hurry Up Tomorrow is described as a musical psychological thriller and serves as a companion piece to The Weeknd’s album released in January. Ortega plays a character named Anima, with the film directed by Trey Edward Schults. While details about the film are still under wraps, Ortega shared her enthusiasm, calling the project “hard to describe” and unlike anything she’s ever seen before.
“It’s very soulful,” Ortega said, describing the film as more of “an experience.” She added, “When you go into it with that mentality, it makes sense.” The actress also revealed that she and her co-stars had little idea what to expect during filming, heightening the excitement surrounding the mysterious project.
