George Clooney, known for his iconic silver hair, has recently shocked fans with a new, darker look. The 63-year-old actor dyed his hair for his Broadway debut in the stage adaptation of Good Night and Good Luck, a change he admits isn’t his favorite.
During an interview with CBS Mornings, Clooney humorously acknowledged the surprise his new appearance has caused. “I know it’s not good,” he joked. “You never get used to it.”
Clooney, who has sported salt-and-pepper hair for much of his life, explained that the dark dye feels strange to him. “It’s not my favorite look, and my wife thinks it’s funny,” he said, adding that his 7-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, also laugh at the transformation. “Honestly, nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dyeing your hair,” he quipped.
The actor made his Broadway debut this month, playing CBS News legend Edward R. Murrow in Good Night and Good Luck. Clooney described the experience as nerve-wracking, despite his years of acting experience. “There is a huge responsibility with these words because they are Edward R. Murrow’s words,” he said. “A lot of people in the audience know those speeches by heart. It’s a big responsibility to get it right.”
On the personal front, Clooney shared insights about his family life with wife Amal Clooney and their twins. “Our kids are 7, about to be 8, and they’re really curious and funny,” he said. “Every parent thinks their kids are great, but ours really make us laugh.”
He also spoke about his strong relationship with Amal, whom he married in 2014. Clooney revealed that they’ve never had an argument. “We’re trying to find something to fight about!” he laughed, adding, “I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman. I feel as if I hit the jackpot.”
Clooney concluded by expressing how grateful he feels every day. “There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
