Ben Affleck has unveiled a dramatic new hairstyle while navigating ongoing marital challenges with Jennifer Lopez. The 51-year-old actor was seen sporting a fresh look in Los Angeles on August 3, featuring shaved sides and a shorter tuft of hair on top, as captured in photos acquired by Us Weekly.
Affleck’s updated appearance was complemented by a stylish ensemble: skinny jeans, a leather jacket, and aviator sunglasses. Notably, he was also seen without his wedding ring.
Affleck, who married Lopez in July 2022 after rekindling their romance from the early 2000s, has been making headlines recently. As they approach their second wedding anniversary, reports confirm that the couple is now living separately.
Lopez, 55, has also been seen without her wedding band, spending time alone on the East Coast this summer. Despite their separation and the removal of their wedding rings, neither Lopez nor Affleck has officially ended their marriage.
According to a source who spoke exclusively to Us Weekly in June, the couple has been struggling to align their expectations and is considering divorce. “They can’t get on the same page [and] have been discussing divorce as an option,” the insider revealed.
In addition to the personal turmoil, Affleck has made a significant real estate move, purchasing a new Los Angeles home valued at over $20 million on July 24. This move follows his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. The children have developed a relationship with Lopez and her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony.
Lopez spoke about blending families in a November 2022 Vogue interview, acknowledging the complexity of the process. “The transition is a process that needs to be handled with so much care,” she said. “They have so many feelings. They’re teens. But it’s going really well so far.”
She added that her goal was to create a supportive environment where her children and Affleck’s children could form meaningful connections. “What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him, someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective,” she explained.
Despite the marital strain, Lopez has continued to support Affleck’s children, attending Violet and Samuel’s graduations and later enjoying shopping outings with Violet in the Hamptons.
