This was exactly what Natalie Portman did when she attended the Christian Dior Womenswear Fall/Winter 2025 show on March 4. The actress rocked a French twist hairstyle that felt perfectly at home for the occasion.
Portman, along with other fashionable attendees such as Jisoo, Lily James, Michelle Monaghan, and Lucy Hale, graced Paris’ Jardin des Tuileries to watch the dramatic runway show. Dressed in a black organza mini dress with lace insets and a stand-up collar, knee-high stockings with bows, and black pumps, Portman completed her Parisian look with her caramel-highlighted brown hair styled loosely in a French twist. A beach-waved tendril cascaded over the left side of her face, adding a touch of effortless glamour. Her minimalist makeup, another quintessentially Parisian touch, tied the look together, showcasing the perfect combination of timeless elegance with a fresh, modern twist.
While updos continue to be a staple for high-fashion events like Dior’s runway, the French twist has fallen somewhat out of the spotlight compared to other styles like the ‘90s-inspired curled coiff or the ballerina bun. However, Portman joins the ranks of other stylish stars like Adele and Angelina Jolie, who have recently embraced the classic look.
