Dorit Kemsley Turns Heads with Ultra-Long Braid and Explains Hair Color Shift
Dorit Kemsley is no stranger to bold and glamorous hairstyles. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently shared her latest eye-catching look on Instagram, showing off an ultra-long, sleek braid styled by Hayley Heckman.
The striking braid cascaded down her back, complementing her chic ensemble—a fitted black long-sleeved top paired with oversized gold hoop earrings.
Dorit’s Love for Braided Styles
This isn’t the first time Dorit has embraced a statement braid. During the RHOBH Season 10 reunion, she sported an intricate braided updo crafted by celebrity stylist Justine Marjan. The look was inspired by a snake-themed hairstyle she had previously worn on the show, complete with a snake ear cuff.
For the reunion, Marjan reimagined the style with a more regal, sculptural design. The elaborate braided updo featured dramatic twists, while the front remained sleek and polished. “We’re doing it to the sides more, and definitely making it look like an art piece,” Marjan explained at the time.
Despite her love for experimenting with different styles, Dorit has admitted she has some limits. “Even though I’ve had many hairstyles and we keep trying new things, there are things that I don’t feel I could get away with,” she shared.
Dorit’s Switch to Darker Hair—And Setting the Record Straight
While Dorit has been known for her signature blonde locks over the years, she recently made the switch to a darker hue. During Part 2 of the RHOBH Season 13 reunion, she addressed speculation surrounding the change.
“Nobody is going to put me on a budget,” Dorit clarified, shutting down rumors that financial concerns influenced her decision. “The dark hair—I was ready for a change. The brown hair was just a choice. I’m not on a budget by my husband.”
When host Andy Cohen pressed further, asking if she was on any sort of budget, Dorit doubled down: “I’m not on a budget.”
In an April 2023 interview with Page Six Style, she elaborated on her choice, explaining that maintaining blonde hair required too much upkeep. “Being a blonde, it’s very high-maintenance. And I’m so high-maintenance as it is, I just feel like my hair should not be as high-maintenance!” she said.
Dorit continues to prove that she’s fearless when it comes to switching up her look—whether it’s a dramatic braid or a bold new color.
