Celebrity Big Brother is back on television, and this season, former Conservative MP Michael Fabricant is catching attention for more than just his political past—it’s his hair that’s causing a stir.
Fans are buzzing on social media, with one user on X (formerly Twitter) asking, “Is Michael Fabricant’s hair real or a really terrible wig?”
Fabricant, 74, didn’t shy away from addressing the question head-on during his introduction to the reality show. He joked about the speculation surrounding his long blonde locks, saying, “Well, it is, I can show you the receipt.” His comment seems to suggest he’s wearing a wig, though the details remain unclear.
In previous years, Fabricant has been less direct. When asked about his hair, he admitted to some “enhancements” but denied wearing a wig. The situation became even more confusing during a 2014 interview with The Mirror, where he described his hair situation as “complicated.” He then stated, “Okay, all I will admit to is that there is some, but only some, enhancement of the follicular area.”
Adding to the mystery, in 2017, Fabricant appeared on Celebrity First Dates for Stand Up To Cancer. During the episode, his date, Jan, bluntly remarked, “The wig is a bit of a giveaway” and suggested he “get rid of it.” Fabricant responded, saying, “My hair is me I won’t discuss your breasts if you promise not to discuss my hair.”
So, while it appears Fabricant has hinted at wearing a wig or possibly undergoing a hair transplant, viewers are still left wondering about the true nature of his hair. It seems we may get more answers as the show progresses, and fans are certainly watching closely.
Fabricant joins other celebrities like Mickey Rourke, Jojo Siwa, and Patsy Palmer in the Celebrity Big Brother house, which airs Monday through Friday at 9 p.m.
