Teddi Mellencamp took to Instagram on Tuesday, sharing a glamorous update with her 1.1 million followers. The 43-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed a stunning new look, sporting a blonde wig as she continues her battle with brain cancer.
In the post, Teddi posed in a soft-green strapless outfit, showcasing her fresh, high-shine hairstyle. Her hair was parted in the middle, styled in subtle waves that cascaded over one shoulder. She completed the look with a glowing makeup finish, featuring soft blush and a nude-toned matte lipstick.
Teddi also wore a necklace with a fossilized megalodon shark tooth, a gift from Bravo TV’s Shep Rose. She joked in her caption, “Does this Megalodon tooth make me look like I’m dating @relationshep or trying to get on Southern Charm?”
While her wig looked flawless, Teddi’s natural hair is currently a light-brown buzz cut, a result of her ongoing treatment. She has been open about her journey with radiation and immunotherapy following her brain cancer diagnosis, which stemmed from skin cancer she was diagnosed with in 2022. On social media, she has shared that she enjoys her short hair but wears wigs to cover bald spots.
Earlier, she posted a selfie from her bed, showing a half-smile. In the caption, she shared, “The other side of my head is completely bald. Please refer your fave non-itchy or hot wigs. Dear half-wig/half-baseball caps from Amazon… let’s do better. I was so excited for you. You hurt my feelings.”
Teddi recently announced that she had completed her final day of radiation. In a post, she shared that only immunotherapy remained in her treatment plan.
Throughout this challenging time, Teddi’s personal life has also been affected, with her ongoing split from her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave. Despite their separation, Edwin has been supportive during Teddi’s health battle. On The Eds Podcast, he explained that his priority was ensuring the well-being of their three children—Slate, 12; Cruz, 10; and Dove, 5—and providing emotional support to Teddi. He shared that his instinct to care for her remained strong, despite their marital issues.
Edwin emphasized, “No matter what, I will always love Teddi and she’s been a big part of my life. And I like taking care of people, it’s just what I do.” He also mentioned the paused divorce proceedings, noting, “The first thing is just making sure that we take care of this first… how do we take care of you? And how can we get you back to normal as fast as possible? That other stuff will figure itself out.”
