Country music legend Reba McEntire gave fans a midweek boost with a nostalgic Instagram post that quickly drew praise. On April 6, 2023, the Voice Season 25-winning coach shared a photo from 1978, taken when she was just 23 years old.
In the caption, McEntire wrote, “A throwback to my first Fan Fair!”—referring to the popular Country Music Association (CMA) event. The picture showed the singer looking radiant, with makeup that perfectly complemented her signature red hair. Fans immediately praised the look, with one user commenting, “Fine then, fine now, fine forever.”
Now 70, McEntire continues to impress fans with her appearance and energy. She credits her youthful look to a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise. But more than anything, she focuses on preserving her most valuable asset—her voice.
McEntire takes great care to protect her vocal cords. In a 2019 interview with PEOPLE, she explained her cautious approach. “It’s a God-given gift, and I don’t want to damage it,” she said. “I don’t holler. I don’t scream.”
She recalled a recent voiceover session where she was asked to scream. “I said, ‘I’ll do it once, but if you want me to scream anymore, you gotta bring somebody else in.’ It hurts your voice, makes you hoarse,” she said.
Before live performances, McEntire starts vocal warm-ups a full week in advance. “It’s a muscle, so you just have to treat it like that,” she explained. “I know the techniques to warm up. I sing to get my vocal cords in shape.”
Whether it’s maintaining her iconic smile, her look, or her voice, Reba McEntire shows no signs of slowing down—proving that talent, discipline, and passion never go out of style.
