Jenna Fischer is embracing her curly post-chemotherapy hair with pride and positivity. The Office star, 51, shared a selfie on Instagram on April 15, proudly showing off her natural curls and bangs. Wearing a navy top and black-rimmed glasses, Fischer smiled as she highlighted her new look.

“I am borderline obsessed with my messy, uncontrollably curly post-chemo bangs,” she wrote in the caption. “They are giving me 80s vibes all day and I’m here for it.”

Actor Olivia Munn, who shared her own breast cancer diagnosis in March 2024, commented, “I’m so happy you’re loving it now! I am too!” Fellow actress Kellie Martin called Fischer’s curls “the absolute BEST!!!”

One fan praised her confidence, writing, “Your confidence is what’s the best, Jenna! You are ROCKING this look… your self-assurance is shining through.” Another shared a personal connection: “I am an 8-year breast cancer survivor… I loved my 80s chemo curls. You look amazing!”

Fischer first revealed her cancer journey on Instagram on October 8, 2024. She shared that she had been diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Positive Breast Cancer in December 2023. “After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation I am now cancer free,” she wrote, posting a photo of her short, growing hair, which she called her “patchy pixie.”

She used the announcement to encourage others to schedule routine mammograms. Doctors had found “something in my left breast,” she said, and early detection played a crucial role in her recovery.

Later, in a conversation with TODAY host Hoda Kotb, Fischer explained why she chose to speak publicly about her diagnosis. She hoped sharing her experience would offer comfort and hope to others facing breast cancer.

Among the challenges Fischer faced, losing her hair was one of the most difficult. “I started by having just a big bald patch down this side of my head,” she said. “And I would kind of do a real elaborate comb-over. I was like, ‘Oh, I understand why the gentlemen do this now.’”

She added that she never had a dramatic moment of shaving her head. Instead, she wore hats and wigs during treatment to feel more comfortable.

Now, as her curls return, Fischer is celebrating her strength and recovery. Her honest and uplifting message has resonated with many—especially those who have walked similar paths.
