Jenna Fischer is embracing her natural beauty as her hair continues to grow back after chemotherapy treatments for stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer.
On April 16, the Office star shared a selfie showing off her curly brown hair, now growing out after her treatments. At 51, Fischer expressed her excitement over her new look, writing: “I am borderline obsessed with my messy uncontrollably curly post-chemo bangs. They are giving me ’80s vibes all day and I’m here for it.”
Fischer also added a message for her followers: “Positive comments only because it’s what they [her bangs] deserve. They are the best.” Her post received a lot of love, with Office Ladies podcaster Angela Kinsey commenting, “I loooove it,” and actress Leslie Bibb writing, “I think you look f—— great.” Olivia Munn, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023, also shared her support, saying, “I’m so happy you’re loving it now! I am too.”
Fischer, who announced her breast cancer diagnosis on Instagram in October 2024, recently spoke to Today’s Hoda Kotb about the impact chemotherapy had on her hair. “When they told me I had to have chemo, the first thing I thought was, ‘I don’t want to throw up, and I don’t want to lose my hair,'” she recalled. “I did not throw up, but I did lose my hair.”
She explained that the hair loss wasn’t uniform and started with a bald patch on one side of her head. “It comes out in fits and starts,” she said. “So I started by having just a big, bald patch down this side of my head. And I would kind of do like a real elaborate comb-over.”
After receiving her diagnosis in December 2023, Fischer underwent 12 rounds of chemotherapy, three weeks of radiation, and additional infusions of medication. Despite the challenges, she never experienced a “big shave-your-head moment” and adapted by wearing wigs and hats.
Now cancer-free, Fischer has proudly shared her hair growth on social media. In January 2025, she posted a picture celebrating the “one-year anniversary” of her breast cancer surgery, showing off her longer, growing pixie cut. “Hair is growing back (slowly) and wildly, but it’s growing,” she wrote in her caption, alongside a cozy photo from her time spent with family in St. Louis.
Fischer’s journey continues to inspire, and her positive attitude is a testament to her resilience.
