John Cena, the Undisputed WWE Champion, recently addressed the ongoing jokes about his bald spot during a guest appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. The wrestling icon revealed that he has undergone a surgical hair replacement to tackle his thinning hair.
When asked about his improved hair at WrestleMania 41, Cena confirmed he had indeed taken action. “It’s coming in. I did. It’s coming in,” he said. Cena went on to explain how the process works: “You take hair from the sides and clamp it on top. You take the lawn over here and put it on the dry spot.” He jokingly added that his hair would eventually be long and flowing.
Cena acknowledged the hair transplant and expressed no shame in it. “There’s no shame in that, man. I got a problem. I try to fix it,” he said, though he chose not to reveal the name of the specialist yet. “I’m working on it. visible.
The 45-year-old superstar also discussed the emotional toll the jokes about his bald spot had taken. “You guys ripped me to shreds for a genetic problem I can’t control,” Cena shared. He explained how the hair transplant process involves shedding the old hair while new hair grows in, which caused him to briefly appear with a very short, almost skinhead-style cut earlier this year. Cena expressed frustration with the public’s criticism: “That’s not fair! I can’t control that.”
Cena went on to describe how the constant teasing felt like. “That is straight-up bullying. That’s just not cool,” he said, before humorously thanking his critics for “bullying” him into getting the surgery.
As Cena’s hair continues to grow back, fans can look forward to his upcoming appearance on tonight’s WWE RAW.
