Andie MacDowell, known for her iconic natural curls, recently surprised fans with a new hairstyle at an Emmy consideration event for her Hallmark TV show, The Way Home. The actress, who has embraced her signature curly locks for decades, debuted a sleek, voluminous blowout on the red carpet, stepping away from her usual curls.
MacDowell, who has also proudly embraced her gray hair during the pandemic, wore a long-sleeve maxi dress and slingback heels for the occasion. Celebrities like George Clooney have also been embracing their gray hair, with Clooney dyeing his hair for a Broadway role but planning to return to his natural silver.
In a recent interview with New York Times Style Magazine, MacDowell explained her decision to embrace her silver locks during the pandemic. “When my hair started growing out, I felt like it was time to embrace my age and be comfortable with where I was in my life,” she said. Inspired by men like George Clooney and Hugh Grant, who confidently sport their gray hair, MacDowell admitted she didn’t see many women going gray at the time.
She also shared that her decision to go fully gray has not hindered her career. In fact, she believes it has made her more unique and powerful. “I think it made me more unique and powerful,” she said.
