Before Leslie Bibb’s bold bob gained attention in The White Lotus, Carey Mulligan had long been known for her signature blunt bob. The British actress wore her blonde hair sleek, chic, and neatly cut to her jawline for years. Now, Mulligan has updated her look with a fresh, edgier style.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on March 27, Mulligan debuted a new micro-bob. Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett created the look, which featured ultra-short hair styled in a wet, tucked-back style with a deep side part. Mulligan added texture by twisting a few sections of hair near her face.
For the appearance, she wore a one-shoulder black Bottega Veneta top, black trousers, and minimalist gold hoops. She also threw a black ruffled blazer over her shoulders while stepping outside the studio.
During her interview, Mulligan talked about her relationship with husband Marcus Mumford, frontman of Mumford & Sons. She revealed that while Mumford has only seen “some” of her films, she often listens to his music before it is released.
“I get demoitis where I hear the demo and become obsessed with it,” she said. “Then he starts changing things, and I’m not happy. He’s a little more cautious now about playing music for me.”
Mulligan and Mumford share three children: Evelyn, 8, Wilfred, 5, and a third child born in 2023, whose name they have not yet made public.
