Isha Ambani has redefined sister-of-the-groom fashion as her brother Anant Ambani’s wedding approaches. At the latest pre-wedding event, Isha showcased a unique and stunning look, departing from her usual style.
A Striking Look
Isha Ambani captivated attention with her teal lehenga, but it was her traditional Tamilian jadai hairstyle that truly stole the show. The businesswoman donned a teal raw silk lehenga with a pink border and a golden blouse. She accessorized with a golden necklace embellished with massive emeralds. The highlight of her ensemble was the intricate jadai hairstyle.
The Jadai Hairstyle
The jadai hairstyle, a staple in Tamilian culture, is composed of three parts. At the top is the rakodi, symbolizing the cycle of life, nestled among mogra flowers on the bun. The braid, known as the jadai, was elegantly woven with golden thread. The braid concluded with a kunjalam, featuring three tiny baubles. The look was completed with traditional jimmkis (earrings) and golden sun and moon ornaments on either side of the hair partition.
Isha Ambani is the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man and chairperson of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani. She is married to Anand Piramal, and the couple has a son and a daughter.
Anant and Radhika’s Wedding
Anant Ambani is set to marry Radhika Merchant on Friday, July 12, followed by a grand reception on July 14. The celebrations will be held at the Ambani family’s Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai and their family residence.
The wedding dates were selected based on the couple’s birth charts, a common practice in Hindu traditions, and deemed auspicious. The wedding festivities include several days of traditional events and rituals leading up to the ceremony.
Sangeet Ceremony Highlights
Last Friday, social media was abuzz with videos from Anant and Radhika’s sangeet ceremony, where families of the bride and groom performed dances for the guests. The event also featured performances by Bollywood stars like Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and Salman Khan, as well as an appearance by international pop star Justin Bieber, who flew to Mumbai for the occasion, according to local media reports.
