Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk has traded his long blonde locks for a new, much shorter hairstyle, seemingly inspired by the British crime drama “Top Boy.” The 23-year-old winger, who joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, unveiled his fresh look on Instagram Monday night.

Mudryk, who had been known for his flowing hair since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, shared a black-and-white selfie featuring his new trim. The photo was captioned “Jamie Innit,” a nod to the character Jamie Tovell, portrayed by actor Micheal Ward, from “Top Boy.”

The winger’s transformation quickly caught the attention of fans who had grown accustomed to his previous style. His reference to “Top Boy” added an intriguing cultural twist to his new appearance.

During the 2023-24 season, Mudryk was a prominent figure for Chelsea, making 31 Premier League appearances, although 13 of those were as a substitute. He contributed five goals and two assists, helping Chelsea secure a sixth-place finish and a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The Blues will enter the tournament during the play-off round on August 22.

Chelsea is undergoing significant changes this summer, with former Leicester boss Enzo Maresca taking over managerial duties from Mauricio Pochettino. Maresca’s first official match in charge will be against Manchester City on August 18.

Mudryk’s new haircut symbolizes more than just a personal change; it marks the beginning of a new chapter for both the player and the club as they prepare for the upcoming season.
