In an effort to support families during the back-to-school season, Beautiful You Hair Salon in Dayton will be providing free haircuts for children on Friday, July 26, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This generous offer is available for kids aged seven to 15.
For the third consecutive year, Beautiful You Hair Salon is hosting this event, aiming to alleviate some of the financial pressures families face as they prepare for the new school year. Salon owner Heather Moates shared that last year’s event was a success, with 67 children receiving haircuts.
To streamline the process and reduce waiting times, Moates advises families to pick up a ticket for the event. “They can sign up for either the 3:00-4:00 PM, 4:00-5:00 PM, or 5:00-6:00 PM slots,” Moates explained. “Anyone can come without a ticket, but those with tickets will receive first priority. We had a very long line last year, and we’re hoping this system will help manage it better.”
Moates emphasizes the importance of community support and her commitment to giving back. “You can be the most talented stylist in the world, but if nobody’s coming into your salon, then you are not making any money or having any business. So if you want your community to support you, I feel like you should support your community,” she said.
She also encourages other salons to join in this initiative. “I would love for other salons to do this,” Moates said. “If they could just do it for an hour or two, and every student goes back to school happy and confident, that would be amazing!”
The event will be held on Friday, July 26, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Beautiful You Hair Salon, for children aged seven to 15.
