Jennifer Gates has made a bold change to her look, swapping her signature long golden-brown locks for a stylish shoulder-length bob. The daughter of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his ex-wife Melinda Gates, Gates, 28, revealed her fresh hairstyle in a recent Instagram post, adding a relatable caption: “less hair to pull.”
The transformation comes at a special time for Gates, who is the mother of two young daughters—Leila, who turned 2 earlier this month, and Mia, whose birth was announced in November 2024. She shares her children with her husband, Nayel Nassar, whom she married in October 2021.
In her post, a photo shows one of her daughters sitting on her chest as Gates snapped a selfie, showcasing the new bob hairstyle. Gates later shared more details of her decision to part with her long hair on her Instagram Stories, posting a photo of two large sections of hair that she plans to donate to the nonprofit organization Children With Hair Loss.
This new look follows a heartwarming Instagram tribute to her daughter Leila for her second birthday. The post featured sweet clips of Leila playing with horses on a farm, where Gates fondly recalled her own experiences with the animals. One video captured Leila being lifted to offer a carrot to a horse, while another showed her walking a pony on a leash.
“Happy 2nd birthday to our sweet girl Leila! Watching her grow up alongside the horses, go for small rides, and enjoy time at the barn is just the best,” Gates wrote. “As a kid, Cool Beans (“Beanie”) taught me how to ride, and 20 years later, it is so special that Leila gets to learn from him.”
In addition to her heartfelt birthday post, Gates shared more photos from the celebration, including a shot of Leila in a sparkly pink dress, joyfully pointing at a table filled with gifts.
